The President actually got this one right, at least as far as it goes:

Obama OKs Offshore Drilling

Of course we need to keep working on alternative sources of energy; I’m fine with that.  I don’t want to cripple the U.S. economy any further than the policies of the Bush/Obama administrations have crippled it, but I’m down with figuring out if solar or wind or hamster-on-treadmill power can wean us off foreign oil.  In the meantime, we can start to wean ourselves by tapping into our own reserves.  Now it’d really be cool to see him stand up to the people who insanely want to prohibit tapping into ANWR.

But good for him, in that even if this is a half-step, it is a half-step in the right direction.
