A renegade, out-of-the-box pastor from Alabama on e-bay, oh man, I already get teased by my family because of the red-necks, please don't let them see that! Seriously though, not everyone likes gimmicks and jokes at church - this reminded me of a church we visited for awhile (in AL) - the pastor was kind of a clown - a little humor is okay, but he poured it on kind of thick. The people there seemed to like it, though. His youth pastor had some tattoos and piercings, I hate to sound judgmental, but I wouldn't have been comfortable having my son in a youth group led by someone who doesn't exercise better judgment than that. We thought it was a non-denominational church but it turned out to be a southern baptist church - the name didn't include the word baptist because they didn't want that to drive people away. Seeing the pics of the washer/dryer, the Do the Do and the road signs reminded me of a couple of churches I've been to - they, too, were trying to show how "different" they were and that Christianity can be fun! Sigh. Give me some good old-fashioned Bible teaching - if I want to be entertained I can stay home and watch TV.
