Hacked!

DSC_7922

As some of you found out already (two emails, two out-of-state “what’s up?” phone calls, meaning at least four people in the world read this blog at least occasionally), TNKZ was hacked by some lifeless loser(s) today. My webbie-dude Paul tells me that all is copacetic now, but for awhile, the only message you got, in quadruplicate, was “We Have Assumed Control”.

I’ll open the floor now to anyone who cares to weigh in to guess what the motivation of the lifeless loser(s) was who decided to create this mischief. Brother-in-law Bill (one of the out-of-state callers) believes that it is the work of a political left-winger. It wouldn’t surprise me, because for all the bluster liberals tend to generate about how conservatives are for “censorship”, libs in practice are way more censorial than any true conservative will ever be (witness libs’ witless support of the “Fairness Doctrine”; guess “free speech” only cuts your way, huh libs?). I don’t know if Bill is right; I doubt this little blog has enough clout to merit a liberal shutdown attempt, although if that is the case, I’m quite, quite flattered. Guesses?

    aliens…….?

Okay, I’ll start. I tend to think it’s a religious nut rather than a political leftie, someone who may have posted here and you know we’ve had some real winners – or should I say losers? It’s someone who’s afraid of a reasonable discussion, someone who goes beyond not liking what is being said here but has worked up a real hate.

It could be an atheist, because some do set up websites just to trash Christians, but it could also be someone who claims to be a believer although it’s hard to say just what they are a believer of because they don’t show any fruit of the Spirit.

I guess I covered a pretty wide spectrum here, is there any way to know who exactly it was? I’d love to know so I could pray for that person.

    @Laurie: I’m not sure; Webbie-Dude Paul?

FYI, I’m not confident that the FBI will give this hacking quite the attention/resources that it’s giving to the Sarah Palin e-mail hacking case. Call that a hunch…

It was after midnight when I clicked on the
No Kool-Aid Zone, my oasis of rational thought in an irrational world…

    WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL

    WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL

    WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL

    WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL

I spilled half a cup of Folger’s best, trying to park it on the desk left-handed and hit the refresh button simultaneously.

The message did not go away.

The Hale-Bopp comet came to mind. And the
Twilight Zone episode where everybody was
suckered in by those who wanted to “Serve Man”.

I settled down with a half cup of coffee and thought,“byron-harvey.com has been hacked.”

Well, Brother Byron and friends, this just goes to show that you all have been hitting the nail on the head and now the nails
    are screaming about it.

The No Kool-Aid Zone, my oasis of rational thought in an irrational world…

BLAAAAAHAHAHAHAH! Now I just spilled my Foldgers…

I think it was a cyber attack from a nutjob dictator, little tinhorn goofball, xenophobic madman, Jew-hating, American-hating bigoted clown like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

    Eatapeach,

Good one! Don’t mind Don, he’s, well… Don. I know what you mean, I thought I stumbled into the wrong site at first, and yes, I got a weird feeling, like an alien abduction had taken place or robots had taken over the world. I agree that something that’s being said here has got the dogs barking – one of them tried to take a bite out of Byron.

But you can’t keep a good man down! My thanks to webbie-dude Paul, good work!

    @Jack Brooks: Ha!!!

  9. Byron on September 23, 2008 at 11:28 am

In the interest of full disclosure, Don has been one of my closest friends since junior high school, so he assumes that he can make snide remarks with impunity.

    He’s, uh, right of course…

  10. Laurie on September 23, 2008 at 11:48 am

My little brother is the king of snide remarks so I’m used to it….well, no, not really. Sometimes I want to smack him right upside the head. Gotta love him, though.

  11. Don on September 23, 2008 at 4:23 pm

My bad. When you opened the floor to anyone who cared to weigh in, naturally I thought you were encouraging snide remarks, which of course as you’ve pointed out I’m only too happy to oblige.

Glad to see things were easily restored (or if it wasn’t so easy, your webbie-dude deserves a raise). (I wasn’t paid to type that.) (And I don’t think the post was hacked to say that.)

If it was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, I’m afraid it’s because your the easier target rather than because you’re a bastion of civilized values and free thought.

It must have happened at the autumnal equinox.

The day that dippy hippies (or “Druids” as they like to be called these days) congregate at Primrose Hill for an ancient ceremony (dating from, ooh, the 1970s).

Who knows what they would be chanting??

    Might be a coincidence….

    Then again it might not…
