As Good a Reason as Any to Eat a Cheeseburger

Here is a letter to the editor from today’s USA Today:

Going meatless
Caroline Heller – Cincinnati

Thanks so much for the USA TODAY article “Flexitarians can have their meat and not eat it, too” (Life, Thursday).

I switched to a vegetarian diet after the United Nations recommended cutting meat out of diets to counteract global warming. Among the many benefits, I’ve lost weight and spent less on groceries. I don’t plan on returning to meat in this age of financial and environmental crisis.

Let me get this straight: the UN says that we should go vegetarian to counteract global warming? Great. Make that the Triple Fatburger with Cheese.

Dang it, now this happens when I just started a real serious diet.

Oh well, down to IN and Out Burger for a triple decker!

The UN is also striving to end corporal punishment worldwide by 2009….so no spanking your kid when they refuse to eat their plate ‘o veggies…

So, if we all go vegetarian then we have to get rid of the farm animals, and that will mean a big bonfire of animals.

And the smoke and ash heats up the atmosphere…

And when they burn the cows, all that methane (a greenhouse gas) going up into the atmosphere all at once….
