Buffoonery in the Name of Jesus…

DSC_7922

Is still buffoonery.

It is one thing—one appropriate thing, of course—to stand for Christ and His truth.  It’s quite another to do what these people are proposing, which constitutes, not a stand for Jesus, but a needlessly offensive, counterproductive affront to people of another faith.  Never mind the fact that that other faith is, as Christians believe, a false religion—our purpose as followers of Jesus must be to love and to win to Christ, not to stick our thumbs in their eyes.  These people aren’t quite in the league of the “God hates fags” loons from Topeka, but you can see ’em from there.

As long as they don’t build any mosques near me or any place I think inappropriate, I’ll be fine. (Note tongue firmly in cheek)

I saw this on breakfast news this morning, and noticed the pastor’s commitment to his religion.

His religion is, of course, “Americanity.” The first thing he drew attention to was flag-burning by radical Muslims- church burning came second.

Who will be those getting it in the neck (literally) if he goes ahead with this? Christians in Islamic lands. Either he is spiritually immature and has not thought through the consequences of his behaviour, or he is callous, with a complete disregard for his brothers and sisters who will face increased persecution.
