Ready for the coming Muslim world?

It’s a simple matter of reproduction. The West has so selfishly undervalued children–so that we can pursue our own agendas–that we’re not replacing ourselves. As a matter of discipleship, we ought to be teaching our kids to marry and have lots of babies (and trust God to provide).

It’s what the Muslims are doing for Allah…

I’m surprised you would post this video.

I think it’s more concerned with our culture than the gospel….and I find it, frankly, fear-mongering (sp?).

Well…I post about culture- and gospel-related things, so I’m not sure why you’re surprised. I don’t know if it’s fear-mongering or not (yes, you spelled it correctly), but the numbers don’t lie. I believe, as I suggested, that the West has gotten so absorbed in a me-first mindset, and the natural outgrowths of that, that we don’t value children like we once did. The Muslims value children, and their value of children is having the effect of radically changing Europe. That seems to be an established fact, at least that the trends are in place to significantly change the lay of the land. It might be fear-mongering if we were talking about a hypothetical, but it doesn’t seem that’s the case, but rather a simple matter of demographic trends that, played out over time, will alter the landscape. Of course, Muslims can be converted to Christ, and some will, no doubt–although the status of the evangelical church in Europe is not a cause for optimism. And I maintain as well that a natural way for Christians to extend their influence is to buck the trend of childlessness, be fruitful, and multiply. What’s to argue with here?

My argument is that it comes across as “oh no! Our way of life is threatened!” “My Best Life Now will be ruined by those…those MUSLIMS!”

So if the idea is that this video will encourage the evangelization of the muslim world, or increased Christian fertility, it’s not out of love or a command of God but….

“We must DO something about this! Oh, I know, we’ll Evangelize them, then we can continue OUR way of life…yah yah…that’s the ticket! We’ll stop abortion so that WE can outnumber THOSE people!”

    That’s why I don’t like the video –
We do these things because they are biblical, not because if we don’t we’ll lose our way of life.

At one time I might have liked this video…but I suppose I’ve come to dislike seeing fear used as a motivator, but I would rather see love.

Where is the love for the muslims in this clip?

    That’s my argument 🙂

Islam is God’s enemy and ours, and is a threat to democracy, women’s rights, and would result in our following generations being enslaved.

    No doubt. Agreed.

But what has priority in our lives? Preserving our way of life or seeing muslims follow Jesus?

Neither; they’re both equally important, because they address different spheres of life. It’s similar to a question like, “Which is more important — voting for a candidate who will keep toxins out of our drinking water, or evangelism?” You don’t have to choose. Say “yes” to both.

Jack, I agree with you about saying yes to both 🙂 This video, however, doesn’t. It appears to me to be much more concerned with our way of life.

There are going to be times when we aren’t able to say yes to both, and there are times when we may have to sacrifice our way of life so that others can see Christ. In those times, I say the evangelism is a higher priority. But of course as long as we can have “both” I’m all for it!
