Bailing out the "Big Three"? Stupid, Stupid Idea

This whole bailout thing has reached epic proportions of governmental stupidity, and now Detroit is crying and moaning about getting their fair share at the bailout trough. Here’s why it’s a bad idea:

There are people who scream “Buy American”, particularly when it comes to cars (we buy our cars used anyway, so it doesn’t matter as far as we’re concerned, but that’s another story). My response is, “why?” Mostly inferior cars being produced at inflated prices because unionization has caused salaries and payments to go out the roof: that’s not my idea of a bargain. Government shouldn’t be “bailing out” anyone, but least of all is Detroit, IMHO.
