And we’re still not safe????
When we make decisions with our feelers instead of our thinkers (pretty much the classic definition of contemporary liberalism, if you think about it), we make bad decisions. In the aftermath of 9/11, we “solved” a problem by taking most airline security out of the hands of private companies and putting it into the hands of government. And both the Socialist Party and the Gutless Party went along with it, because it felt good to do it. And it felt safer to have the government in charge.
Feel safe now?
But of course, we won’t learn from this: we rarely do. Instead, whenever there’s a perceived problem, we turn to Big Government, the same Big Government that screws up everything else it touches, for the most part, instead of unshackling the private sector’s ability to deliver better goods and services for better prices.
