Sam Brownback is a fine and honorable man, in many respects an ideological clone of Mike Huckabee. Sam’s dropping out now, at just the time Mike is gaining ground in Iowa.

I figure a solid second in Iowa, ahead of Rudy and Fred and McCain, propels his campaign to top-tier status and gives him a chance. If Mike can’t make a run at it, there’ll still be time to get behind another candidate, but for goodness’ sake, if you supported Sam Brownback, you should have no problem supporting Mike Huckabee.
